ENVIRONMENT AND CSR

ON THE RIGHT TRACK
FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

Above and beyond its contractual commitments, LISEA has made sustainable development a cornerstone of its action. In 2017, this approach led to the implementation and monitoring of environmental compensatory measures, and was also reflected in the company’s strong involvement in the LISEA Carbone and LISEA Biodiversité foundations and in the Sillon Solidaire endowment fund.

With 223 protected species and 14 Natura 2000 sites spanning the new line, managing compensatory measures is a major issue for the concession operator. These consist in restoring and managing natural sites over time, through actions supporting the environment and protected species. As part of this effort, LISEA is continuing the work initiated in 2011 striving to find sites that are close to the infrastructure and integrate them into existing ecological networks. All in all, LISEA will be managing and monitoring more than 3,500 hectares of environmental compensation in the areas crossed by the LGV, in partnership with government services and naturalists’ associations.

LISEA Carbone

With the LISEA Carbone Foundation, the concession operator finances projects in the departments crossed by the HSL related to the energy performance of buildings, ecomobility and the energy transition of the agricultural world. In total, 87 projects were subsidised.

The «LISEA Start-Up Contest»

Organised by the LISEA Carbone Foundation in partnership with the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region and Bordeaux Métropole, this contest invited start-ups to submit innovative solutions for the last kilometre between the train station and the urban
destination, which is often the most CO2-intensive part of a journey. In 2017, the contest helped support the three following projects, which were each granted a €15,000 subsidy: Tako (taxi sharing solution from the Bordeaux train station),
OuiHop’ (real-time urban hitch-hiking solution) and Haiku (connected GPS box for urban cyclists, to be fitted on a bike’s handlebars).

Sillon Solidaire

Since its creation in 2012, the Sillon Solidaire endowment fund has supported 160 projects developed by non-profits in the six departments crossed by the HSL. The projects focused on integration, mobility, access to housing and the fight against illiteracy, for a total of €1.8 million.

18 community projects supported in 2017

In 2017, Sillon Solidaire’s call for proposals rewarded 18 community and solidarity-based projects. Winning projects included, among others, the acquisition of a connected vehicle offering a mobile access-to-rights service in rural areas in Charente-Maritime and the rehabilitation of premises to create housing for women victims of violence in the Vienne department.
